The Conference, held at the Hotel Russell and chaired by Dinah Cox of Race on the Agenda, and Jo Gordon of the NOMS Voluntary sector Unit, was an opportunity for voluntary sector organisations to meet with their potential NOMS commissioners. Delegates heard presentations from Steve Murphy, ROM for London about NOMS and commissioning, David Scott of London Probation on its perspective on offender management and resettlement, and David Reaich of the Prison Service and Rupert Bailie of the ROM’s Office on resettling London prisoners. A powerful poetry reading by two women from Clean Break entitled ‘Offending A Female Perspective’ began the afternoon session during which delegates attended discussion workshops on the key pathways of ETE, Health, Accommodation, Drugs, Children and Families, and Programmes for Offenders.
